STATE.jpgAn Atmore dentist was found dead in his home Saturday, according to the Atmore Advance.

The newspaper reports:

Deputies with the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office discovered Atmore
dentist Thomas Alvin Rice Jr., DMD, dead at his home late Saturday
afternoon.


According to investigators, Rice died from a gunshot wound,
and was found inside his Nokomis residence located off Hwy. 31.


Rice was
a 1982 graduate of the University of Alabama and has practiced dentistry at 111
E. Ridgeley Street in Atmore for several years.

Police are still investigating the incident.
