Some 1,500 people visited the Second Annual Magic City Black Expo by this afternoon at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex by Saturday afternoon.
The event was organized by Birmingham-based Dreams to Reality Productions to promote entrepreneurship, education, integrity and customer service offered in Birmingham’s African-American community.
The event, held at the BJCC’s South Exhibition Hall, has included appearances actress and singer Telma Hopkins, and actor and author Greg Alan Williams along with hair stylists, lawyers, live musical acts, authors, visual artists, marketing and media firms, florists, and informational booths on political figures.
The event also featured a booth by the Ujima Math and Science Fun Initiative, a Birmingham-based group which specializes in offering children hands-on learning experiences.
The expo lasted until 7 p.m.
