Original Article: Ronald McDonald statue stolen from Columbus, Ga., restaurant

COLUMBUS, Ga. –
Columbus police are trying to figure out who stole a statue of Ronald
McDonald from a playground on Thanksgiving day.

The life-sized statue of the iconic clown sat on a bench in the playground of the 1436 Manchester Expressway McDonald’s.

But Friday, employees told police they discovered someone had hopped the playground gate and stolen the statue.

A manager says the theft likely occurred between 11 a.m. Thanksgiving Day and 5 a.m. Friday.

The statue is worth more than $500.
