A 45-year-old man shot to death this morning in southwest Birmingham has been identified by the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office as Darrell Deangelo Jackson, 45, of Birmingham.
Gunfire erupted in the parking lot of an apartment complex when two residents there got into an argument over a cell phone, Birmingham police said.
The shooting happened about 8:30 a.m. at 331 3rd Ave. S.W. Jackson was shot once in the stomach with a revolver, police said. He was pronounced dead a short time later at UAB Hospital.
