HORTON, Alabama — A 3-year-old Marshall County girl died Sunday following an accident involving a propane tank.
According to Marshall County Coroner Marlon Killion, the accident occurred Sunday afternoon at 486 Fox Run Road in the Horton community. A 100-pound propane tank was somehow knocked over, striking the child in the head. She was pronounced dead at Marshall Medical Center South.
The death was ruled an accident following a preliminary investigation by Killion, the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department and Douglas Police. Killion said officials are still trying to contact some members of the girl’s family, and it could be Tuesday before the girl’s name is released.
