Alabama Power Co. said tonight that its statewide power outages following Wednesday’s tornado outbreak stand at 64,946.
The total, as of 9 p.m., includes 29,671 outages in the Birmingham area, 29,966 in the western areas of the state, 5,499 in the eastern areas and 821 in the southern areas.
The utility’s peak outages were about 412,000 on Wednesday night.
