Here are some organizations that are providing help.
FEMA
To register for assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, call 800-621-3362 (FEMA) from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Operators are multilingual. Those with a hearing or speech impairment can use TTY 800-462-7585. Survivors can also register online any time at www.disasterassistance.gov or through Web-enabled mobile phone devices and smartphones at m.fema.gov.
They can also apply for help at one of these disaster recovery centers, which are open Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. and Sunday from noon- 7 p.m.

RED CROSS SHELTERS AND EMERGENCY AID STATIONS
Red Cross is offering aid through mobile operations in: Bibb, Calhoun, Cullman, DeKalb, Elmore, Fayette, Hale, Jackson, Limestone, Marion, Marshall and St. Clair counties.
The agency is offering shelter and emergency aid at specific locations in other counties.

ANIMALS
The Greater Birmingham Humane Society has a lost and found area on its website (www.gbhs.org) that might help pet owners catch up with animals lost in the storms.
VCA Becker Animal Hospital, 1901 27th Ave. South in Homewood, is offering free boarding assistance for animals whose families have lost homes or have been evacuated in the tornadoes.
OTHER HELP
United Way of Central Alabama. Call 211 to request help.
The Salvation Army in Birmingham. www.birminghamsalvationarmy.org or 328-2420. Also, the Salvation Army warehouse, off Lakeshore Drive on Industrial Drive just past Oxmoor Road, has food, clothing and other items for victims.
Scott School, 1517 Hibernian St., is a distribution point for aid to victims in Pratt City.
Cottage Hill Baptist Church, 1120 Pleasant Grove Road, has free clothes and shoes available.
