GULF SHORES, Alabama — While everything around them burned, a family of alligators rode out the Alabama Gulf State Park wildfire in a mud hole, WALA TV reports.
The TV station reports that Conservation Officer Roger Reetz was walking the grounds and finding no signs of life until he came across the mud hole, with a mama alligator and at least 9 babies gathered together.
The Orange Beach Fire Department reportedly filled the oasis with water so the gator and her babies could survive. View the station’s report below.
