ANDALUSIA, Alabama — Many residents in the drought-stricken Andalusia area have opted to participate in the voluntary three-day water usage ban this week, reports WSFA today.
More than 10,000 residents complied to participate in the ban that started today, vowing to avoid using water until Wednesday in order to conserve water in the area desperate for rainfall.
If the town continues under these conditions for the next two weeks, Mayor Earl Johnson told the news station that he will consider a mandatory three-day water ban.
