AUBURN, Alabama — Auburn University officials report that power has been restored to parts of the campus after a widespread power outage today.

A number of buildings, however, remained without power at mid-afternoon. It was left at the discretion of supervisors in those buildings whether or not to release employees to go home for the rest of the day.

Further information about the cause of the power outage or whether it involved non-university buildings as well was not immediately available.
