BIRMINGHAM, Alabama — A shootout between two men at a southwest Birmingham housing project this afternoon left at least one of the men wounded, police said.
Police said they are searching for the other man involved in the gunfire.
Birmingham police and paramedics were called out about 1 p.m. to the Birmingham Housing Authrority’s Kimbrough Homes on John Bryan Road.
A wounded man found at the scene was transported to a local hospital for treatment, police said. A wound to the man’s back did not appear to be life threatening, police officers said.
Police had markers sitting in a parking lot where about a half dozen shell casings had fallen at the foot of where one of the men was firing his gun during the shootout. The other shooter was standing across the road, police said.
The wounded man’s name and other details of the shooting were not available.
