ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Alabama — A Blount County man was killed and four others injuried in a one-vehicle crash that occurred this weekend on Interstate 65 near Flomaton, Alabama State Troopers said today in a news release.

Andrew Chanse Williams, 20, of Cleveland, was killed in the crash that occurred about 6:15 p.m. Saturday on southbound I-65, about 18 miles north of Flomaton, troopers said.

Williams was killed when the 2003 Ford Explorer in which he was a passenger left the roadway and overturned in a ditch, troopers said. Williams and three other passengers were not wearing seat belts and were ejected from the vehicle, troopers said. The driver, who was wearing a seat belt, was not ejected, officials said.

The names of those injured were not released.
