BIRMINGHAM, Alabama — Students from Booker T. Washington K-8 and Indian Springs School worked together Tuesday to build an organic garden at Booker T. Washington.
The project is part of an ongoing partnership between the two schools.
Several faculty and staff members from Indian Springs won Alabama’s Brightest Company Trivia Competition in March. The $20,000 prize money enabled staff of Fertile Minds Learning Center, which is Indian Springs’ organic garden and outdoor learning laboratory, to help Booker T. Washington start its garden.
The Backyard Pantry, a company that specializes in ready-to-plant raised bed gardens, helped with the project.
