SPANISH FORT, Alabama — It was Mother’s Day evening and presumably much of the mama adoration was out of the way. It was time to kick back on the deck at the Bluegill Restaurant on the Causeway for some indie music.

Fans turned out Sunday to hear the edgy sounds of the Redfields, a touring band out of Arizona with some punk rock roots, and Top of the Orange, out of Mobile. Redfields’ “driving sound is best described as emo-influenced indie-rock with heavy guitars and powerful songwriting,” according to PlugInMusic.

Top of the Orange consists of members Josh Ewing, Brandyn Ulmer, Ryan Campbell, Chad Sutley and Kevin Hurt. The band’s songs include “Who Turned Off the Sun” and the most-requested “Let Me In!”

BW Independent Photographer Cindy McCrory caught the show and came back with this 47-photo Scene Shots photo gallery capturing the crowd and the atmosphere. BW, the Gulf Coast’s premier weekend entertainment magazine from Biloxi to the Florida Panhandle, regularly visits area nightclubs and events for its Scene Shots photo galleries. Look for us next time with mega-galleries from the Hangout Music Festival.
