BIRMINGHAM, Alabama — Children’s Hospital of Alabama is now Children’s of Alabama, celebrating 100 years today with the announcement of the new name. An updated logo is set to be unveiled, and a new hospital building will come in August of 2012.

“Over 20 years ago our daughter needed Children’s and an outstanding pediatric neurosurgeon. We are so thankful for what they did for her (us). I have often felt the same way as xNickleX. We continue to donate and have been on tv to assist in raising funds for the Children’s Miracle Network. This hospital is a gift and blessing to those of us in Alabama and the SE region. She is now almost 21, beautiful and unless she told you, you never would know she’s had major surgery at the age of 4 months. Interestingly enough, I’m about to meet her for lunch and determine how to pay for her last 2 years of college. (I don’t mind one bit.)” -wegle87
