ATHENS – Athens police said the TVA Credit Union on East Hobbs Street was robbed about 3:50 p.m. Friday.
The robber is a white man wearing a black doo rag, white T-shirt, black pants with a gray stripe, black and white tennis shoes, sunglasses and was carrying a black turtle shell motorcycle helmet, police said.
The robber was about 6 feet tall and weighed about 170 pounds, police said.
The bandit gave a note to the teller and indicated he had a weapon.
Investigators with the Athens Police Department and the FBI are investigating the robbery.
No injuries were reported.
