BAY MINETTE, Alabama — The Baldwin County Commission has set the dates and times for this year’s sales tax holiday for the purchase of school supplies, computers and clothing.
This year’s sales tax holiday shopping weekend will begin at 12:01 a.m. Friday, Aug. 5, and continue through midnight on Sunday, Aug. 7.
Meanwhile, for the second straight year, the city of Brewton will not participate in Alabama’s sales tax holiday. The City Council voted 4-1 not to participate in the Aug. 5-7 event.
City Mayor Ted Jennings said that given the city’s financial condition, it could not afford to do without any sales tax income.
