Businessman, TV figure and political maverick Donald Trump announced Monday that, while he was certain he could win the U.S. presidency, he was giving up his quixotic bid for the Republican presidential nomination in 2012, numerous media outlets reported.

The online community seemed shocked, simply shocked and perhaps a little disappointed at the lost entertainment value of a Trump-based political reality show for 2012. Read some of what they’re saying:

• “Too Bad. Just when we need more entertainment and comedy. I guess we will have to make do with what s out there already.” — cvett69

• “Who didn’t see that coming? This was all a ratings boost for Celebrity Apprentice. ” — AUII INdicted

• “Oh the horror and dissapointment of this development!!!

NOT!!! — sundevil72″

• “Does this mean we will never hear what his investigators in Hawaii found that we wouldn’t believe…” — yourapita

• “Right in time for sweeps! The fact that we take this guy seriously refects more on us that it does on him.” — mark910Banned Again
