MOBILE, Alabama — A 32-year-old man was charged with murder in the shooting today of a woman in her front yard on Davis Lane in Wilmer, according to the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office.
Shannon LeeAnn Deas was shot twice in the chest about 11:30 a.m. today and later died at a local hospital, according to the sheriff’s office.
Tony Rowell Jr., of Eight Mile, was arrested on a murder charge and taken to Mobile County Metro Jail, where he was being held with no bail.
According to investigators, Deas and her roommate had a verbal fight in the front yard of their home.
At some point, Rowell got involved in the argument, pulled out a handgun and shot Deas twice, according to investigators. Cpl. Chris McLean, a spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office, said he couldn’t release further details about the shooting.
Rowell is scheduled for a bail hearing on Monday.
