PENSACOLA, Florida — Investigators with the Escambia County Sheriff’s Cold Case Unit have re-released information on a 41-year-old homicide, hoping someone will have information that could help solve the case in which a body was found not far east of the Alabama state line.

On Monday, June 15, 1970, the body of an adult male, an apparent murder victim, was found in the area of Bronson Field, east of Perdido Bay and south of Lillian Highway, Escambia County investigators said. It is believed that the victim had been dead for less than a week.

Investigators were unable to identify victim, and his identity remains a mystery. The victim is a white male believed to be between the ages of about 40 and 50 at the time of his death; his date of birth therefore being during or around the 1920s and 1930s. The victim was about 6 feet tall and weighed 180 to 200 pounds.

A police sketch (see above) shows what the victim may have looked like in life.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office at 850-436-9620 or Gulf Coast Crime Stoppers at 850-433-STOP.
