MOBILE, Alabama — Fire heavily damaged a vacant house at 5618 Jackson Road Saturday evening, according to the Mobile Fire-Rescue Department. No one was injured.
MFRD spokesman Steve Huffman said firefighters found heavy fire and smoke coming from the house upon arrival.
Huffman said the cause of the fire in under investigation with the Bureau of Fire Prevention, and a cause has not been determined. Huffman said the house had been left undecured before the fire started.
Damage was estimated at $50,000. Three engines, a ladder truck, a rescue truck and District Chief Capt. Donald Dobbs responded.
