FOLEY, Alabama — Foley police have arrested five people after investigating 36 car burglaries throughout south Baldwin County, officials said today in a news release.

During April and the first few days of this month, items such as cash, cell phones, iPods, GPS systems, guns and sunglasses were stolen from various residential neighborhoods, police said.

Police arrested Joshua Cameron Imel, 19, Aubrey Louis Coggin, 20, and Eric “Bubba” Billingsley, 20, all of Foley.

Cpl. Tony Nelson and Investigator Scott Baxley handled the cases. Confessions from the three allowed police to close all 36 of Foley’s cases, officials said.

Police said Imel and Coggin confessed to about 150 vehicle burglary cases investigated by the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office and the police departments of Fairhope, Daphne, Orange Beach, Gulf Shores and Loxley, officials said.

Foley police charged Imel with 11 counts of third-degree theft of property, six counts of second-degree theft of property, three counts of breaking and entering a motor vehicle, first-degree theft of property and third-degree burglary.

Coggin was charged with 12 counts of third-degree theft of property, seven counts of second-degree theft of property, three counts of breaking and entering a motor vehicle, and third-degree burglary.

Billingsley was charged with breaking and entering a motor vehicle and second-degree theft of property.

A juvenile female was charged with second-degree receiving stolen property, for having in her possession some of the stolen property, police said.

Manquez Deandro Adams, 18, of Foley, was charged with second-degree receiving stolen property for purchasing three firearms that were stolen, police said.
