Author: The high temperature in the Birmingham area today hit 95 and narrowly surpassed the previous record high for the day — 94 — set in 1911 and tied on May 31 in 1951 and 2006, according to the National Weather Service.
Tonight will be mostly clear with a low around 73.
Highs in the upper 90s will continue throughout the week
Wednesday and Thursday will both be sunny with highs near 97 and 96, respectively.
The low will be around 74 each night.
