After this evening’s scattered rainfall and thunderstorms, the National Weather Service forecast for the Birmingham area calls for a chance of more rain and storms throughout the weekend.

Saturday: Scattered rain and thunderstorms, mainly after 3 p.m. Mostly sunny with a high near 95 and a 40 percent chance of precipitation.

Saturday night: Scattered rain and thunderstorms, mainly before 7 p.m. Partly cloudy with a low around 71 and a 30 percent chance of precipitation.

Sunday: A 30 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms after noon. Mostly sunny with a high near 96.

Sunday night:
A 20 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms before 11 p.m. Partly cloudy with a low around 72.
