There is a 20 to 40 percent chance of rain in the Birmingham area this weekend as high temperatures are expected to drop from the upper 90s to the low 80s, according to the National Weather Service.

Monday: A 30 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a high near 87.

Monday night: A 20 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a low around 67.
