Author: Severe thunderstorms are expected throughout the day Thursday across central Alabama, according to the National Weather Service.
The system will move into northwest central Alabama between midnight and 3 a.m. and bring damaging straight line winds, large hail and lightning to Aliceville, Tuscaloosa and Jasper.
There is a chance of an isolated tornado north of Sulligent and Double Springs, but confidence remains low that will come to pass.
A second wave of severe weather is expected Thursday afternoon and evening, between noon and 8 p.m.
Those storms will likely bring damaging straight line winds, large hail and lightning.
