AUBURN, Alabama — Former White House press secretary Robert Gibbs advised Auburn University graduates to make the most of the opportunities they have been given, and to continue to learn through life experiences and continued curiosity.

Gibbs addressed an enthusiastic crowd Monday at Jordan-Hare Stadium as Auburn graduated 3,598 students.

An Auburn native, Gibbs spoke of the current tornado recovery efforts in his home state, speaking of storm damage at the University of Alabama, where this years’ graduation ceremony has been postponed.

Gibbs, who served as press secretary to President Barack Obama, said he supports the current administration’s decision to not release photographs of Osama Bin Laden, saying it would encourage terrorist retaliation acts.

Gibbs said he was relieved when Osama Bin Laden was killed.
