Helena police are investigating a Saturday evening shooting in the Silverlakes subdivision that involved four men, authorities said.
According to Helena Deputy Chief Tim Carter, police were called to Silverlakes Drive, off South Shades Crest Road, at about 7 p.m. on a report of gunshots fired.
Police found two wounded men lying in a parking lot of the subdivision park. One was transported to University Hospital by ambulance, the second by Lifesaver helicopter. The first was treated and released to officers and remains in the Helena City Jail. The second male remains in the Intensive Care Unit in critical condition, Carter said.
Carter said a third male who left the scene on foot was apprehended shortly after police arrived. A fourth fled by vehicle but was apprehended early this morning, Carter said. The two men are also in the Helena City Jail, he said.
Carter said names, ages and addresses of the four men will not be released until warrants are secured, which should beMonday morning.
Carter said none of the four were residents of the Silverlakes subdivision but do live in the Helena/Alabaster area.
The reason for the shooting is still under investigation, he said.
