Author: HUNTSVILLE, Alabama — A man was arrested Sunday on manslaughter charges after a child was killed while riding his bike, according to the Alabama State Troopers office in Huntsville.
Matthew John Dahl, 6, was riding his bicycle on Kinsale Drive in Harvest around 8 p.m. when he was hit by a passing car. The driver left the scene of the accident without stopping, troopers said. Dahl was flown by MedFlight to Huntsville Hospital where he later died from his injuries.
Sunday, police arrested 19-year-old Kyle David Morgan at his home. Morgan was charged with manslaughter and leaving the scene of an accident, a felony charge. No additional details were immediately available.
Visitation for Dahl will be Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Berryhill Funeral Home. A memorial fund has been established at Legacy Elementary School where Dahl recently graduated from kindergarten.
