HUNTSVILLE, Alabama – A 37-year-old Huntsville man drowned in the Tennessee River near Lacey’s Spring late this afternoon, said Don Webster, chief operations officer for HEMSI.
The man, whose name has not been released, was swimming at Sunnyside Landing in the Talucah area when he went under the water, Webster said. Fellow swimmers pulled the man out of the water and started cardiopulmonary resuscitation on him, he said. The man was in full cardiac arrest when HEMSI arrived after receiving a call at 5:25 p.m, Webster said.
HEMSI transported the man to Crestwood Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, he said.
