HUNTSVILLE, Alabama — Huntsville Utilities announced this afternoon that efforts to restore power by TVA are going slower than previously forecast and it now expects minimal restoration to begin in some areas Monday night.
The utility said restoration will be done in phases as increased power from TVA is transmitted into the local system.
Huntsville Utilities also urged residents to turn off air conditioners at the thermostat and to turn off water heaters at the circuit breaker to reduce the immediate load on the system as power is gradually restored.
Huntsville Utilities said it has 450 workers aided by crews from Florida, Tennessee and Tuskegee working on the local power network.
