HUNTSVILLE, Alabama — A Madison County Sheriff’s deputy has been placed on administrative leave by the sheriff’s office after he was arrested by Huntsville police, authorities said.
The deputy was arrested on charges of third-degree burglary and third-degree domestic violence also known as harassment, said Chad Brooks, an investigator with the sheriff’s office.
The employee was arrested Monday morning around 3:30 a.m. and booked into the Madison County Jail. Madison County Sheriff’s Lt. Ron Derting said the deputy would remain on leave pending an investigation by both Huntsville police and the sheriff’s office.
No additional details were released, including the employee’s name.
