Author: EIGHT MILE, Alabama — A man attempting to burglarize a home was fatally shot by the homeowner, Prichard police reported tonight.
The shooting was reported at 9:32 p.m. When police arrived on the scene, in the 1700 block of Bear Fork Road, they found the man wounded and unresponsive, Capt. Dorothy Ferrell said in a news release.
The man was taken to the University of South Alabama Medical Center, where he later died. He had not been identified as of late tonight, Ferrell’s release said. An investigation was continuing.
