Author: GADSDEN, Alabama — An Etowah County man has been arrested in the abuse of a 4-month old girl, authorities said today.
Jeremie Wayne Carr, 18, is charged with felony child abuse. He is being held in the Etowah County Detention Center on $10,000 bond.
The incident happened Friday, May 13, at Carr’s home on Tidmore Bend Road. The victim’s name and relationship to Carr has not been released.
On Monday, the baby was taken to the doctor’s officer where the doctor determined her arms were broken. From there she was admitted to a hospital for treatment.
“There is never an excuse for this type of behavior and abuse of this magnitude will not be tolerated in Etowah County,” said Sheriff Todd Entrekin. “It saddens me and is so disturbing to know that this small, innocent child suffered over the weekend before medical attention was sought.”
