A man who fell from the roof of a Center Point house Saturday afternoon was taken by helicopter to UAB Hospital with serious injuries, according to the Center Point Fire District.
The man, whose name was not available, apparently was working on a roof in the 2500 block of Sweeney Hollow Road about 1:20 p.m. when he fell, said Capt. Lonnie West of the fire district.
Center Point Fire officials took him to a rescue helicopter waiting at North Clay Baptist Church on Wood Drive for transport to UAB, West said.
