A day-long “Mayberry Day” featured a parade of classic cars, music, food and an evening performance by Bluegrass musicians and a play.
There were even some real characters from Mayberry, the fictional home of Griffith and his son, Opie. Maggie Peterson, who played Charlene Darling, and Rodney Dillard, one of the musicians featured in the Darling Family, entertained. Other characters showed up via lookalike actors.
