Author: It was 71 degrees at 6 a.m. in Birmingham and more stormy weather is likely for central Alabama, according the National Weather Service.
In the forecast, today should see some sunshine and a high near 93 degrees but rain and thunderstorms, some severe, are expected this afternoon.
The storms may continue well into the evening before dying down. The storms are expected to resume Wednesday afternoon. The high Wednesday is expected to be near 92 degrees.
The rain and storms are likely to continue daily through Saturday before conditions shift enough stifle the storms next week with high pressure that brings hotter daily temperatures.
