MOBILE, Alabama — Two men were indicted by a Mobile County grand jury on child sex abuse charges, a spokesman with the District Attorney’s Office said Friday.
Joshua Caleb Bentley, 20, of Chunchula was indicted on a charge of sex abuse of a child under age 12, spokesman Chad Tucker said. The victim was related to the accused and the incident is alleged to have occurred in Chunchula, Tucker said.
Bentley was booked into the Mobile County Metro Jail early Friday morning and released later with bail set at $5,000, according to jail records.
In the other case, Monte Ray Lambert, 50, of Whistler was booked into Metro Jail on Friday afternoon and released a short time later with bail set at $7,500, according to jail records.
Lambert also has previous arrests in Mobile County for assault, according to records.
Tucker said the victim was 11 years old and not related to Lambert. The incident is alleged to have occurred in Mobile.
