MOBILE, Alabama — The Mobile County Revenue Commission will auction properties for delinquent taxes Thursday at the main office at 3925 Michael Blvd., officials said in a news release.

Registration will be held from 8 to 10 a.m., when the auction begins.

More than 4,000 properties will be auctioned to the highest bidders if 2010 ad valorem taxes are not paid by 10 a.m. Thursday, Revenue Commissioner Marilyn Wood said.

To avoid a tax lien, property taxes must be paid by 10 a.m. Thursday at the Revenue Commissioner’s Office on Michael Boulevard or at the other following locations:

  • Downtown office in the Government Plaza Annex at 151 Government St.
  • Theodore office at 5808 U.S. 90 West.
  • Citronelle office at 109 S. Main St.

Payments must be made using either cash, credit card, money order or cashier’s check. Personal checks or business checks will not be accepted, officials said.

A list of delinquent property owners has been advertised in previous editions of the Press-Register.

For more information call the Revenue Commissioner’s office at 251-574-8530 or 251-574-8545.
