MOBILE, Alabama — Mobile police have released the descriptions of 4 men they say were involved with two commercial robberies in which 2 store clerks were shot, officials said today in a news release.

About 9:10 p.m. Friday, two men walked into a gas station in the 500 block of Azalea Road, police said. One of the robbers, armed with a handgun, demanded that the cashier open the door leading to the cash register, police said. When the cashier refused, the robber fired three shots, one of them striking the victim in the right arm. The robbers fled, police said.

The first robber is described as a black male, about 6 feet tall, weighing between 150-160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, blue jean pants and black shoes. The suspect had an off-white colored t-shirt covering his face and appeared to be in his late teens to early 20s, police said.

The second robber is described as a black male, about 5 feet, 10 inches tall, weighing between 150-160 pounds, police said. He was last seen wearing a light blue long sleeve shirt, dark color pants and a red t-shirt covering his face. The suspect appeared to be in his late teens to early 20s, police said.

A little while later, about 9:45 p.m. Friday, two armed robbers walked into a gas station in the 5000 block of Cottage Hill Road, police said. One gunman intentionally shot the clerk in the leg, took money and tobacco products before leaving the store, police said. The victim was treated at Providence Hospital for non life threatening injuries, officials said.

The first robber is described as a black male last seen with a red shirt covering his head and wearing a blue long sleeve shirt that had a stripe down the sleeve and black pants, police said.

The second robber is described as a black male with a gray shirt covering his head and wearing a black shirt and black pants, police said.

Detectives are investigating to see if the same robbers committed both crimes, officials said. “We alaways compare open cases to see if they are related,” said Officer Christopher Levy, police spokesman. “We are comparing these to see if they could be related.”

Anyone with any information on either or both robberies is asked to call Mobile police at 251-208-7211 or CrimeStoppers at 251-208-7000 or send a text to 274637 and include CRIME 411.
