BIRMINGHAM, Alabama — More than 150 people have turned out for a disaster relief meeting in Pratt City organized by Congresswoman Terri Sewell, D-Birmingham.
Sewell said the meeting’s purpose is to inform and empower communities.
“All of the information you need is in this room,” Sewell said at the meeting held at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church.
The audience will hear presentations from representatives from agencies ranging from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Alabama’s Housing and Urban Development office to the Salvation Army.
Tornado survivors will get a chance to speak or ask questions later in the meeting which ends at 8 p.m.
