The Mountain Brook City Council tonight approved three contingency plans for storm-related tree limb pickup and disposal.
The council approved using Waste Management to transport limbs to the city landfill and other landfills. City Manager Sam Gaston said the rate for transporting limbs to other landfills will be slightly higher than to the city’s.
The council also approved using Rast Construction for tree limb grinding, and working with county employees. All of these could be used if needed, Gaston said.
The April 27 storms left a large amount of fallen tree limbs near U.S. 280. Since then, the city has collected 415 truckloads of limbs.
