Author: HELANA, Mississippi — Nessie Willard Brewer, who was born in 1921 in Uriah, Alabama, but whose family moved to southern Mobile County, died Wednesday. She was a resident of Helena for the past 30 years and died at age 89.
Brewer was a mother of 4 boys and a member of the First Pentecostal Church of Helena. Funeral services are at 11:00 this morning from Holder-Wells Funeral Home Chapel with iterment to follow at 12:45 p.m. at Mobile Memorial Gardens in Mobile.
Brewer is survived by her 2 sisters, Allie Morgan of Wade, Mississippi, and Verna Benson of Gautier, Mississippi; sons Frank Willard of Atlanta, James “Jim” Willard of Mobile, Melvin E. “Gene” Willard of Helena, David “Dave” of Tallahasse, Florida; 18 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
