FLORENCE, Alabama — Prosecutors aren’t saying what led them to obtain indictments in two old homicides.
Grand jurors issued the indictment Friday for a 34-year-old man accused of killing a Florence 17-year-old in 1994 and two brothers accused of killing a man in 2000.
Eddie Frank Chandler is charged with felony murder in the 1994 death of Chris Stanback of Florence.
Alfred Shawn Johnson and Shannon Ray Johnson, both of Florence, are charged with murder for the 2000 death of 22-year-old Keith Barnett of Florence.
Lauderdale Circuit Court Judge Gil Self set bail at $50,000 for Chandler, who says he’s innocent and does not need an attorney. Self told Chandler he must have an attorney.
Attorney Jeff Austin, who represents Shannon Johnson, says he hasn’t seen a police report.
