ODENVILLE, Alabama — A woman filed suit claiming paramedics and a town’s fire chief wrongly flushed her two stillborn children down the toilet after she had a miscarriage last year.

The suit, filed Tuesday in St. Clair County by Kimberly Chyann Garrison, names Regional Paramedical Services Inc., the city of Odenville and former Odenville Fire Chief David Davis.

The lawsuit claims the woman was 20 weeks pregnant when she had a miscarriage at home in July 2010. The suit says the paramedics and fire chief flushed the remains of the two stillborn children without telling the woman whether they were dead or alive.

The suit says sheriff’s deputies later removed the bodies from a septic tank.

None of the defendants immediately returned calls seeking comment.

The suit seeks an unspecified amount of money.
