A Republican running for state representative for District 1 in Florida has been charged with doc shopping and fraudulently getting a prescription for the painkiller hydrocodone, the generic name for Lortab.

As of this evening, the website for Ricky Perritt, who describes himself as a Christian conservative Gulf War veteran, made no statement on the arrest.

Perritt’s wife, Jennifer Rene, was arrested July 21 and faces 23 counts of drug trafficking, a first-degree felony; 31 counts of obtaining a controlled substance by forgery, a third-degree felony; and one third-degree felony count of fraud, according to a Santa Rosa County sheriff’s report.

According to the July 21 report, Jennifer worked as a medical assistant for a Pace doctor and according to the report, called in hydrocodone prescriptions for her and her friend between October 2009 and June 2010.
