Author: HUNTSVILLE, ALABAMA – Huntsville police are investigating a Tuesday night shooting on Mastin Lake Road at Blue Springs Road.
Police say Tavaris Sentil Love, 30, was traveling northbound on Blue Springs Road about to turn westbound on Mastin Lake Road about 7:10 p.m.
Witness told officers that a large SUV-type vehicle pulled along side the passenger side of Love’s vehicle, the driver rolled down his window, leaned out and fired multiple shots from a large caliber handgun into Love’s vehicle, police said.
One of the bullets struck Love in the right lower abdomen, police said. He was taken by HEMSI paramedics to Huntsville Hospital in critical condition, according to Don Webster, chief operating officer for HEMSI.
Police closed the intersection of Mastin Lake Road at Blue Springs Road while they worked the crime scene. No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
