MOBILE, Alabama — A Prichard man has been arrested and charged with numerous counts, including rape and kidnapping, in connection with an attack on two women last weekend, Mobile police said.
 
Shelby Myron Robinson, 18, was arrested by Mobile detectives and charged with 10 felony count in relation to the sexual assault of two adult females that occurred about 3 a.m. June 5 in the downtown Dauphin Street area, police spokeswoman Ashley H. Rains said tonight in a news release.
 
The women also were robbed of their personal belongings during the assault, Rains said.
 
Detectives made a traffic stop on a vehicle believed to be Robinson’s on Bear Fork Road at St. Stephens Road, which is near the area where he lives, Rains said.
 
Robinson was detained, questioned by detectives and arrested on the following charges:
 
– One count of first-degree robbery;
 
– One count of first-degree rape;
 
– Two counts of second-degree kidnapping;
 
– Two counts of first-degree sodomy; and
 
– Four counts of illegal use of a debit card.
 
Detectives continue to investigate a second suspect who is believed to have been involved in the robbery of the victims, Rains said.
