RUSSELLVILLE, Alabama — Russellville Fire Chief Joe Mansell says firefighters from four departments were called overnight to an apartment complex.
Mansell said Wednesday the apartments were a total loss, but no injuries are reported.
Officials said flames quickly spread through the attic of the 10-unit, two-story complex, causing problems for firefighters.
Elizabeth Moore, chief executive officer of the Red Cross of North Alabama, said disaster relief personnel were sent to Russellville to assist families displaced by the fire. She says four of the 10 families reported having no place to go. Her organization will work with them to find temporary accommodations.
