space.com reports evidence is mounting that Titan, a moon of Saturn, has a subsurface liquid water ocean.  Researchers analyzing data from the Cassini probe, currently in orbit around the planet, believe that an underground ocean would explain certain physical characteristics of Titan, such as its tilt.  The presence of water would also increase the possibility of life on the moon.

Putting the brakes on biodiversity loss could create up to $6 trillion in job opportunities, and the European Commission wants to take advantage.  Reuters (via Scientific American) reports the Commission has set a goal of cutting the loss of species and habitat in half by 2020.  According to the report, 25 percent of Europe’s animal species face extinction, while 88 percent of fish stocks face threats.
